The Right Way to Run an IPO Road Show – HBR

This is good advice for the CEO embarking on the IPO journey.   Small business need-to-follow, heads-up and of-interest.

Excerpt:  The lesson here? Don’t leave the initial phases of the presentation (storytelling and slide creation in particular) solely to the bankers, marketing or the investor relations department, not because they’re not proficient, but because ultimately as CEO it’s your show and you need to insure that it’s a success. So, get involved early and often, making sure everyone is on board and clear about their individual role, their story and how it fits into the bigger picture. As a stage director once told me, “It’s your ass up there on that stage. Make sure it looks good.”
